In 1977, Sergiy Arndt was born in Surkiceni, a little village in Moldavia. At the age of five, he left the country with his mother and moved to the Ukraine, where he grew up in the metropolis of Odessa.
After his graduation from school at the age of 18, he began an apprenticeship with the aim to become a hairdresser. Already in his younger days, he discovered his passion for painting which has remained till today.
In 2002, he moved to Frankfurt am Main (Germany) and after many successful years in his apprenticeship he gained his diploma as master hairdresser in 2008. In this year, he also restarted to concentrate on painting.
Sergiy Arndt has acquired the basic knowledge in painting by himself. In addition, he attended seminars held by Dagmar Hirsch-Post and Peter Eleven which influenced his style from the very beginning.
The works of Sergiy Arndt are based on the Realism, however they have an own language and tell stories which cannot be easily classified: they are neither plain romantic nor melancholic nor surrealistic. Abstract as well as representational pieces can be identified, which show the variety of Sergiy Arndt`s artistic potential.
After many years of experience with chromatics, Sergiy Arndt's credo can be best described by the following: The perception of a colour is always subjective and determines a part of one's personality. Individuality cannot be replaced by the chromatics.

Sergiy Arndt is member of the artist's club in Frankfurt since 2011.
